FAST Congress

Cambridge Healthtech Institute’s Second Annual
Phenotypic Drug Discovery
Maximizing Information in Early Drug Discovery for Better Target and Drug Selection
November 17-18, 2014
Part of the Second Annual FAST: Functional Analysis & Screening Technologies Congress

Phenotypic screening (aka classical pharmacology) has been historically used in drug discovery. While technological developments have made the prevalence of target-based screening more popular, statistical analysis shows that a disproportionate number of first-in-class drugs with novel mechanisms of action come from phenotypic screening. Cambridge Healthtech Institute’s Second Annual Phenotypic Drug Discovery meeting will address the advantages of phenotypic screening vs. target-based screening, and focus on assay development, selection of physiologically-relevant models and subsequent target identification.

Topics include:

  • Assay Development
  • Target/Pathway identification and validation
  • Physiologically-relevant models for phenotypic screening
  • Data analysis for phenotypic screening
  • High-content analysis
  • Chemical genomics/proteomics

Deadline for priority consideration is April 18, 2014.

All proposals are subject to review by the Scientific Advisory Committee to ensure the overall quality of the conference program. Please note that due to limited speaking slots, preference is given to abstracts from those within pharmaceutical and biomedical companies, regulators, and those from academic research centers. Additionally, as per CHI policy, a select number of vendors/consultants who provide products and services will be offered opportunities for podium presentation slots based on a variety of Corporate Sponsorships.
